“I can change the story. I am the story.” ~ Jeanette Winterson
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I worked as a psychotherapist in private practice from 2010 - 2016 in Toronto, Canada. Through this experience, I gained particular expertise for working with people who are braving new life transitions, healing from past and/or recent traumas, and with those who identify as part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/gender non-conforming, and queer (LGBTQ+) communities. It is my great joy to continue working with unique and diverse clients here in Los Angeles.
I offer individual and couples counseling services to adults for a range of issues including: anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness & isolation, relationships, conflict & communication, trauma, sexual orientation, gender identity, body image, substance abuse, life transitions, and existential issues such as death, dying, and the search for meaning.
I work from within anti-oppressive and anti-racist frameworks and with a feminist, LGBTQ+-affirmative, and trauma-informed lens. I welcome you to explore my pages to learn more about my experience and my approach to psychotherapy.
I feel quite privileged to be working under the supervision of Ken Howard; Ken is both inspiring and generous with his knowledge, insight, and mentorship. I invite you to explore a full description of Ken's experience and practice within his website: http://www.gaytherapyla.com
Initial phone consultations with me are complimentary. These conversations usually last about 10 – 20 minutes.
My services are fully or partially covered by most insurance plans. A monthly superbill for PPO insurances can be provided for you.
